Harrison Ford honored by cinematographers

FordHarrison Ford will receive the American Society of Cinematographers' 2012 Board of Governors Award at the 26th annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards gala on Feb. 12."Harrison Ford is a talented and focused actor whose professionalism has earned the admiration of our members," says awards chairman Richard Crudo. "His diverse, and still evolving, body of work includes too many memorable motion pictures to list."Ford, who earned an Oscar nomination in 1986 for "Witness," is currently prepping sci-fi pic "Ender's Game," and he will star in "42" as Branch Rickey, the baseball executive who helped shatter baseball's color barrier by making Jackie Robinson the first African-American player.The ASC Board of Governors Award is given annually to an individual who has made extraordinary achievements to advancing the art and craft of filmmaking.
